Review

Developed by Outfit7, the Talking Tom Cat 2 app is a sequel to the well-known app - Talking Tom Cat, created to entertain users. The intent of this app is for users to interact with their favorite animated cat on their phone screens, Tom.

Design (3/5)

The Talking Tom Cat 2 app has a similar design to its predecessor and is direct and simple to use. The game needs no setup of any kind and can be navigated through from the main screen. The main screen offers icons that allow users to make Tom perform different actions.

The left side icons allow users to access the mini-games page, activate Ben the dog to scare Tom by popping a paper bag behind him, and make Ben fart behind Tom!

The icons on the right allow users to dress Tom, make him perform a random action, have Ben smack him with a pillow, or have Tom bring his smartphone with a tinier version of himself on it so you can talk to him and watch what happens.

Content & Features (3/5)

The Talking Tom Cat 2 app allows users to customise and interact with the animated cat, Tom. Users can talk to Tom, who will repeat what they have said in a high-pitched voice, like in the previous Talking Tom Cat game. The newer features that this app packs in are being able to solve mini-games with Tom and collect coins in addition to poking him, and stroking him.

Users can now also dress Tom in different clothing and accessories. Tom’s location has also been expanded, and he now lives in a little apartment! All of Tom’s activities and reactions can be recorded and shared on social media websites with the app’s recording option.

User Experience (4/5)

Talking Tom Cat 2 has received mixed reviews from its users. Since the app is intended mainly for users of younger ages, a lot of older users find it repetitive and purposeless. Some users have preferred the original to the sequel, and are bothered by the poor graphics.

However, some users find Talking Tom Cat 2 a funny and entertaining game to spend time on playing and have enjoyed the app. The frequent pop-up ads between every action are quite bothersome to most of the users.

Devices (4/5)

The Talking Tom Cat 2 app is available for free download on Android, and Apple devices such as mobile phones and tablets, and also compatible with Windows devices.

Final Point

The Talking Tom Cat 2 app is an entertaining and engaging game to spend time playing. The Talking Tom franchise has expanded to a great extent ever since the release of the original Talking Tom Cat app, which is still popular among its user base.

The addition of mini-games and clothing and accessories has made the game much more fun to play for many users.

The game is mainly intended to keep younger users occupied and amused, but also appeals to some older users.
