Review

The GameStop app was developed by GameStop to empower users to be updated on the latest news on current video games and upcoming products.

The app mainly also purchases video games and other electronic products from users greater cash or credit, and allows them to gather rewards and points that they can redeem while purchasing other products from the app itself.

Design (3/5)

The GameStop app has been designed to be simply and efficiently navigable. Created using a bright red, grey, and white color scheme, the main template of the app bears a bar at the top of the main screen which allows you to access home, the trade page, and the shop.

The icons on the top right of the screen are to access the find a store page, the user’s shopping cart, and the search bar. The user’s credits are displayed on the top left of the page, with a hamburger menu that allows users to sign into their accounts, find deals for products, check their PowerUp rewards and more.

Content & Features (3/5)

The main intent of the GameStop app is to buy users video games and other electronic products for cash or credit, along with the function of giving users news about the newest, the most popular, and the upcoming video games to the market. The Trade Center in the app empowers users to monitor and save trade-value estimates of products.

Being a PowerUp rewards member of the GameStop app allows users to get rewards, discounts, and other deals on purchases on the app. It is important to note that the products for sale on the app may be pre-owned ones.

One of the other features of the GameStop app is that it provides users information about the nearest GameStop outlets and gives them complete details from opening hours to contacts.

User Experience (4/5)

Most of the GameStop app’s users are satisfied with the app’s functions, but encounter several problems in the app’s functioning and efficiency. Many users who have purchased or attempted to sell products using the app face multiple obstacles or receive faulty products and are not compensated for. They have also had to face poor quality customer service.

As for the app, users have reported repetitive app crashes and a recurring failure to log them into their accounts. Other users are satisfied with the app’s range and search functions, and find it useful to stay updated about the latest games out in the market and other information regarding the videogames world.

Devices (4/5)

The GameStop app is available on the Google Play Store for Android devices and the App Store for iOS devices.

Final Point

The GameStop app seems to pack in more potential than it has played out. Its log in problems and app malfunctions makes it undesirable for users searching for a good video game trade and purchase app, and is frustrating to endure for those users who already use it.

With some major bug fixing, the GameStop app has real potential to be a very efficient search engine for video games and to also be a good place to accumulate rewards and trade video games and other products.
