We live in a world where professional networking is limited to LinkedIn and nothing more - that's until now at least. Welcome to Ripple. A new and unique networking app specially designed for working professionals. What exactly is it? How does it work? What doTinder and Ripple have in common? Let's dive right in and find out.
Ripple is, as described earlier, a professional networking app through which users may connect with other professionals freely. Whether you're looking for a job or just want to expand your knowledge in a specific field, Ripple has all the right tools for you. How it works is pretty much in the same way LinkedIn does. It lets users create an account, build their profile, upload and update their resume, choose their skills or industry, and search and connect.
Here is where Tinder comes in because Ripple was created by a few ex-employees of the dating app and they have taken it to the next level. Ryan Ogle (Tinder's former CTO) and others involved in the app have said that the available networking apps out there don't offer much more than a ton of ads, unwanted mail, and pricy in-app purchases. Professionals are always on the lookout for more and that is exactly what Ripple has to offer.
Unlike any other app, users can swipe to connect with other (hint of Tinder in there). They can even create or join various events and groups from the app. One unique feature called Face Connect lets users find other users just with a photograph. If the person does have a Ripple account, the app will scan the photograph and direct you to their profile. Another feature is Nearby which lets users find other users around them in real-time. To help keep up with all the latest news from around the world, Ripple has integrated Twitter's and Medium’s news feed within the app.
With more than 20 million users across the globe, Ripple is surely on the right track to becoming one of the most used and loved professional networking apps available online.
